Although there are agencies who offer this service, you can also do it on your own. You may install a softener at home so you can have save more. Here are the steps to be able to successfully have it at the comfort of your home.
First, you need to get all the things needed. There are tools and equipment that you need for your project. Before starting it, recheck everything you bought.
Drain the lines by turning on the faucets minutes before you start the steps to officially install the softener. Then turn it off completely including the power heater. Place the softener that you bought with the package in a dry and safe level space. There will be 2 tanks to be used meaning, you need a bigger space for it. Place it beside each other.
Use a tape measure and measure the length of the cold water line through the bypass ports. Get the most accurate measurement then cut a piece of copper tubing and solder it to the ends. Be as accurate as possible to avoid repetition of steps.
It is time to read the instruction again and follow each one of them. Be sure that you also have everything that is needed to install it. If you notice that something is lacking, try to recheck the package and confirm. IF there is really something missing on it take hold of the receipt and go back to where you bought it so you can get the missing tool.
Part of what you have bought is a tube. Prepare it and place it on the side of your conditioner tank. Another one would be a discharge tube needed for draining. Also make a draining system.
Install the bypass valve on the head valve of the conditioner. Use a screwdriver to adjust the screws unto the stainless steel clamps towards the seat valve. This is the time when you need to connect the copper tubing that you have measured. It is needed to deliver the water to the bypass valve. Then, attach it to the lines.
Now your machine is ready to function. Before turning it on and trying it, please do check everything that you have done as there might be mistakes. Being able to fix it the soonest will lessen the chance of doing the whole thing again. Simply turn on the faucet and check how everything works. If there is anything that seemed to be not functioning the right way, immediately turn it off and figure out how to make everything right.
